How much joy can a girl get from a planner?
A LOT. It’s so pretty I can’t even deal. All my friends are so annoyed with me.

ALSO
Be prepared for an influx of posts since the semester has officially begun and I now have actual things to procrastinate around. I’ve just had my first class (Structural Geology, yay!) and I’m already on tumblr while waiting for my next one (tennis!) to begin. p.s. FUCK it is cold outside. (And therefore I am too afraid to walk back to the quad to grab sneakers and my racket and will...

You know you go to Smith College when...
You go to a hipster themed basement party and you’re pretty sure that at least 90% of the people there aren’t faking it. Aren’t we just the ironic-est?

I'm tired of all the ambiguous precipitation.
Rain? Fine. Snow? Fine. This “wintry mix” of cyborg ice bullets? Not acceptable. ALSO: New National Geographic causing me to freak out a little. Special feature on Paris and all the secret ragers that go down in the underground. I yearn so badly to live in Paris and be that cool. AGH.

Oh, my....
Disclaimer: This post is mostly just about how awkward I am. Let me begin by saying that I love the Vibes. Let me now tell you that for my 19th birthday last March they collectively gave me a gift certificate to Northampton’s famous sex shop, Oh My. I’d heard all sorts of great things about the place and listened to Vibes and other Smithies sing its praises, yet that gift certificate...

An Act of God.
I didn’t fail chemistry. I love Smith and all the amazing, driven people here, but sometimes its really irritating to hear people smack talking their own academic performance when your own is obviously so much worse. Let me give you a play-by-play of every chemistry exam I’ve had this semester: cute girl with a perky ponytail: Oh no, I can’t believe I only scored eighty...

Rocking out in the rock room.
Spent some time on the interwebs while making frosted glass at work today (I know, my job is extremely fulfilling) and happened across Ke$ha’s Wikipedia page. I like her so much it’s kind of uncomfortable.

The end is near (?).
What do you think is more likely to do away with the human race first, total eco-devastation or the robot takeover? My money is on the robots. (This mini-post inspired by a terrifying but enlightening read, Eaarth by Bill McKibben. I urge you all to pick up a copy)

Reasons why this j-term is already better than...
1. I am not losing my self esteem every night by working at the phonathon. I’ve got this cushy little job in the rock room where I can be among the minerals and saws and sediment all day and never have to speak to one angry (i.e. stingy)  alum. 2. I have a NICE bike. I mean, yea, it’s cold as fuck outside, but this bicycle is so wonderful. Weighs almost nothing. Turns on a dime....

Just discovered that my job at Smith over j-term will only give me about 6 hours a week. Not okay. Anyone around know anywhere that’s hiring? Help!

Babies are really cute.
Hulu now asks whether or not its ads are relevant to you. I only click yes on the ones that have to do with babies in hopes that soon all the car commercials and insurance ads will be gone and I will only have to watch ads starring cute, wide eyed infants. I don’t even like babies. What is my deal?

Oh, how the times have changed...
Happy New Year 2010 And Happy New Yearr 2011 Two things that have not changed: 1. I’m still just as vain and 2. I still edit the crap out of all my photos.
